In the information age, we have the option to share our opinions on just about any experience we have had, and now others can and will listen! There are plenty of platforms to get your voice out there, making your experiences – good, bad or otherwise – of just about anything available to others.

Yelp and Foursquare are two of the original platforms who pioneered this new way of collecting and sharing unsponsored, uninhibited real-life experiences to the Internet. After their successes, more specific sites arose, such as Glassdoor – a website providing reviews of (potential) employers, a staple of both job seekers and recruiters.

Launched in November of last year, we now have Recruitsy, a website building a database of recruiters, reviewed by the candidates who they have placed.

Online reviews are one of the most important decision-making factors in today’s world. When trying to find a restaurant, you go to Yelp; a college professor, Rate My Professor; a doctor, Healthgrades. Recruitsy offers the same, just focused on headhunters.

Not only do sites like this orient clients (and, in this case, candidates) towards good recruiters, they also increase accountability and transparency. In an industry where painstakingly manicured résumés simply “disappear” and recruiters “ghost” candidates well into the recruiting process, folks, this needs to change.

Recruitsy hopes to do that. Now available in beta mode, the website allows recruiters to create a free profile. Thereafter, candidates can submit a review (unlike other online reviewing platforms, anonymity is not an option here) detailing their experiences with a recruiter.

The site is primarily for third party recruiters; however, staffing agencies may also join. One unprecedented benefit for staffing agencies is concrete feedback on individual recruiter’s performance, which could affect real change in a recruiter’s behavior.

The site is in its early days and faces a long journey to build a large database of recruiters and agencies. On top of that, candidates will likely not leave reviews initially on their recruiters without prompting. After a successful launch in their homebase of Jacksonville, Florida, Recruitsy stands to change the industry nationwide and beyond drastically for the better.

One day, you will be able to go to this website and determine if you have the right recruiter for you.
